**League of Legends patch 26.12** is a direct hit to mid lane comfort picks and early jungle bullying. [Orianna](https://baronbuff.com/champions/orianna/) is easier to push out of lane and her burst is lower unless she has strong Ability Power items, while [Lee Sin](https://baronbuff.com/champions/leesin/) and [Nocturne](https://baronbuff.com/champions/nocturne/) are less reliable at winning early fights that used to give them control of the game.

On the other side, solo queue duelists and scaling carries get real tools. [Gwen](https://baronbuff.com/champions/gwen/) and [Jax](https://baronbuff.com/champions/jax/) trade more often before first item, [Sylas](https://baronbuff.com/champions/sylas/) hits harder in mid game fights, and [Hwei](https://baronbuff.com/champions/hwei/) has more frequent slows and spell uptime to set up picks.

**Mid lane picks:** If you have been defaulting to [Orianna](https://baronbuff.com/champions/orianna/), expect lane to punish you more often: she has 20 less base health, her passive stacks add less damage, and her ultimate deals less base damage. Meanwhile [Sylas](https://baronbuff.com/champions/sylas/) is a stronger blind pick for fights after lane because his Q hits harder and his W heal scales better with Ability Power. [Hwei](https://baronbuff.com/champions/hwei/) also gets more reliable poke and a stronger slow, so it is harder to walk away after he hits QE.

**Top lane decisions:** Pick [Gwen](https://baronbuff.com/champions/gwen/) if you want earlier trades that actually stick—her E gives more attack speed early, and her Q snips deal more base damage. [Jax](https://baronbuff.com/champions/jax/) is also safer in lane because his Q costs 15 less mana, and his E does more damage based on the target’s max health, so tanks lose more health when you trade.

**Jungle and off-meta checks:** Think twice before first-picking [Lee Sin](https://baronbuff.com/champions/leesin/) for early kills—his Q deals less damage and his attack damage growth is lower, so fights you used to win are now closer. [Nocturne](https://baronbuff.com/champions/nocturne/) clears slower and is weaker in 1v1s because his Q damage is lower. And if you were playing AP [Xin Zhao](https://baronbuff.com/champions/xinzhao/) mid, his healing is lower and his W and E cost more mana, so he runs out of mana sooner and is easier to force out of lane.
