PATCH 26.7 ANALYSIS
League of Legends patch 26.7 is a support-and-bot-lane reality check. Rell gets faster engages and her ultimate deals more damage, so fights start sooner and your first target can die faster. Kalista also hits harder when she stacks spears, which raises kill pressure in lane and makes early all-ins more decisive.
On the other side, the protection tools take a hit: Karma shields less with Mantra E, and Nami’s W loses more power each bounce, so early trading is less reliable. Veigar has longer ult cooldown early, and Ornn deals slightly less percent damage with W, so top lane all-ins into tanks are less threatening. Cassiopeia quietly wins lane more often with more mana and stronger follow-up damage after poison.

What This Means for Ranked
If you want a reliable engage support, pick Rell. Her E move speed is higher (15% normally, 30% when facing the right direction), so you reach fights faster and miss fewer openings. Her R damage is also higher at rank 1 and 3, which means your first full combo takes a larger chunk of enemy health during bot lane fights and early dragons.
If you play bot lane carries, respect Kalista and reconsider Veigar bot. Kalista’s Rend stacks scale harder with her total attack damage, so she wins more all-ins when she gets multiple spear stacks. Veigar’s R cooldown is 120 seconds at rank 1 now, so he gets fewer early kills from repeated ult usage and has less pressure after the first fight.
If your plan is “protect the ADC,” adjust your picks. Karma gives smaller Mantra E shields in midgame, and Nami’s W loses more value per bounce, so you must choose healing or damage more carefully in lane. In solo lanes, Cassiopeia can trade more often because she has 30 more base mana, while Ornn is a slightly lower damage threat into tanks.
