How to play against Vayne

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

  1. Crash waves into her tower when she lacks an easy recall. Her poor early wave clear makes bad resets and missed farm easier to force.
  2. Avoid straight isolated duels near walls. Keep trades short and hold movement for her E angle.
  3. Disengage during her ult, then re-enter when your cooldowns return. Chasing through invisibility gives Vayne the extended duel she wants.
  4. Force grouped objectives instead of scattered side skirmishes. Vayne is easier to control when she must hit the front line under vision.
  5. Peel her first tumble forward with immediate crowd control. Do not let her choose isolated targets on the edge of the fight.

Where Vayne is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

  • Vayne's early waveclear is weak, so coordinated pushes can trap her under tower before she scales.
  • Vayne excels in isolated duels but struggles when grouped crowd control denies her tumble space.
