How to play against Lucian

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

  1. Respect his short trade burst after he dashes forward. Punish the cooldown by extending the trade once E is down.
  2. Force objective fights when he must walk into range instead of hitting freely from mid wave. Deny quick picks by keeping vision on flank brushes and lane entrances.
  3. Outrange his first dash with a staggered formation and save peel for his forward E. Collapse after he spends R or dashes into a short lane.

Where Lucian is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

  • Lucian's short range forces him into danger, so longer-range carries and peel can deny his damage uptime.
  • Lucian spends his dash to create burst windows, leaving him punishable if the first trade fails.
