How to Play Orianna

Champion-specific pre-match tips

Gameplay tips on Summoner's Rift

Lane Phase

Weave auto-attacks continuously during level 1 and 2 trades to maximize the stacking magic damage from your passive.

Lane Phase

Cast Q slightly behind the enemy laner to guarantee the hit, then immediately cast W to burst them before they walk out of the radius.

Lane Phase

Cast E on yourself just before the enemy retaliates to absorb their damage while dragging the ball through them for return poke.

Mid Game

Attach your ball to an engaging frontline ally with E right as a skirmish breaks out to safely deliver your ult into the backline.

Mid Game

Leave your Q in narrow jungle chokepoints a minute before neutral objectives spawn to zone enemies and scout their approach.

Mid Game

Clear waves instantly by casting Q into the center of the crashing wave and pressing W to hit all six minions before rotating.

Late Game

Hide your ball inside terrain or walls near Baron or Elder Dragon to obscure it from enemy vision before casting a surprise ult.

Late Game

Hold your ult during 5v5 teamfights until the enemy team groups in a chokepoint or commits their mobility spells.

Late Game

Cast W around your own champion when getting dived in late-game fights to simultaneously speed yourself up and slow your pursuers.

Gameplay tips in Arena

  • Keep the ball on your partner before they enter, use W for movement as well as damage, and R only when the ball position is confirmed. Reposition with Q after every enemy dash.
  • Build Luden's Echo, Archangel's Staff, Rabadon's Deathcap, and Innervating Locket. Mana and haste support constant ball control; add Zhonya's Hourglass against direct dives.
  • Prioritize Eureka, Magic Missile, Big Brain, and It's Killing Time. Repeated ball movement and a protected Shockwave decide clustered rounds.
