How to play against Ornn

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

1. Avoid short trades that let him answer with his full combo. Poke while spacing his E path, then back off before his crowd control connects.
2. Pressure him when his mana is low or his Q is down. Force him to choose between farming and holding enough resources to fight.
3. Disengage when he casts R and re-engage after it expires. Fighting into both casts gives his team the clean engage they want.
4. Move first to objectives instead of matching him in slow side fights. Ornn is harder to punish once his team is grouped around him.
5. Spread just enough that R cannot knock up your whole team. Save mobility or interrupts for the second cast.

Where Ornn is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

• Ornn's engage is powerful but telegraphed, giving mobile teams time to disengage before the second cast lands.
• His damage arrives through delayed brittle combos, so spaced targets can avoid giving him full trade value.
