How to play against Shen

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

  1. Stop trading when passive shield appears, then resume after it fades.
  2. Hold the wave near your side and zone with last hits; fast pushes let him farm safely under tower.
  3. Track his R before committing to dives or shutdown fights; disengage when he channels and take the cooldown win.
  4. Punish wasted E on vision or waveclear by forcing him off side towers.
  5. Interrupt or force R before major objectives so he cannot turn a backline dive.

Where Shen is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

  • Shen's damage is modest after his taunt, so durable opponents can outlast him once shields fade.
  • His global protection costs side-lane pressure, making failed ultimate saves punishable through waves and towers.
