How to play against Sion

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

1. Trade early before his health stacking takes over and sidestep charged Q rather than hitting him during it. Crash waves after forcing a bad reset.
2. Answer his side pressure with waveclear before grouping for objectives. Avoid slow ganks on him when the enemy can countergank during the long kill timer.
3. Ignore him when he cannot reach your carries and cut off his follow-up instead. Save displacement for his charged Q or R entry.

Where Sion is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

• Sion's engage is heavily telegraphed, so prepared enemies can sidestep his charge and punish his long recovery.
• Sion converts health into durability but offers limited backline threat when carries keep distance from his slow swings.
