How to play against Sona

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

1. Punish her before she can stack repeated shields and poke. Force short trades when her lane partner cannot immediately answer.
2. Stand away from your partner when she walks up with passive ready. Make her choose one target instead of tagging both.
3. Engage after her W or R is spent, not into her full reset tools. Force her team to fight before she cycles a second heal.
4. Catch her while she wards instead of hitting the frontline. Sona is strongest when untouched behind grouped allies.
5. Spread before her R so one cast cannot lock down multiple carries. Re-engage after it misses or hits a low-value target.

Where Sona is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

• Sona is extremely fragile, so direct engage can remove her before repeated auras create value.
• Sona needs grouped, extended fights to scale her healing and shields, making quick picks especially punishing.
