How to play against Rek'Sai

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

  1. Respect her tunnel angles when the wave is far from your tower. Keep a ward on the side path and retreat before the knock-up begins.
  2. Hold instant crowd control or movement until she commits upward. Using it too early lets Rek'Sai follow and finish the gank.
  3. Group through cleared paths rather than face-checking jungle entrances. Rek'Sai punishes isolated rotations with fast knock-up picks.
  4. Turn on her after the first engage if she misses the priority target. She is much weaker once her entrance tools are spent.
  5. Protect carries from flank tunnels before starting Baron or Elder. Force Rek'Sai to enter through vision where she cannot surprise the backline.

Where Rek'Sai is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

  • Rek'Sai needs tunnel angles and first contact, so cleared vision makes her ganks and picks far less explosive.
  • Her teamfight pattern is short-ranged and committed, leaving her vulnerable after the first knock-up fails.
