How to play against Vi

Lane and teamfight rules that hold regardless of your pick.

In lane and in teamfights

1. Track her jungle side and push only during windows when she shows away from your lane.
2. Freeze near your tower when her path is unknown so Q cannot turn the long lane into a gank.
3. Deny straight-line river entries with wards and bodies; she wants Q into R on one carry.
4. Force her to use Q before your carry steps forward, then punish while her engage path is gone.
5. Stand ready to peel the R target instead of scattering; she commits fully once she locks on.

Where Vi is weak

Exploit these in draft and in lane.

• Vi's engage is linear and committal, so vision and frontline bodies can block her access to carries.
• Vi locks onto one target, leaving her punishable if that target survives until her team cannot follow.
